The 4-Spool Thread Extension upgrades the HWS-1 Hand Wrapper with a silky smooth tension system that uses a combination of bearings, springs, and precision knobs to eliminate friction and achieve infinite control of four different threads at once. While conveniently housing four small to medium sized thread spools, this 4-Spool extension also uses the large tension knobs to allow for user-friendly installation and adjustments, such as changing tension, or even swapping out threads.
With this adaptor, you will experience pure, unimpeded thread tension to master underwraps, overwraps, trim bands, inlays, and all the custom thread wraps in between in no time!

This upgrade along with the magnet kit finally makes this wrapper easy to use. Multiple spools mean less time fighting the thread carriage while changing spools and the magnets allow such a greater control on the spool tension. The next improvement to really make this a great carriage platform is adding a few more thread eyes to the base so that each thread can travel through either an individual eye or at least one for each side. The other big improvement that can be made is adding one more tensioner rod. The additional rod allows you to keep tension on the thread when changing colors and keeps the thread separated until going through the final eye on the shuttle so that you can keep the threads from twisting. This is useful when running more than one color at a time and you don't want the colors to "twist".
great if you are using small spools, I bought some 800 meter spools they really don't work to well without removing one of the springs and washer for the spool top fit.
Makes it easy when using different colour threads
Thread carriage arrived within a week. Fit HWS-1 without any necessary sanding or other modification. Much smoother thread feed than original setup. Going to try this for a while before I decide if I need/want to opt for the magnets.
