I have built multiple rods as well as owning several different brands over the last 50 years. Even when I’ve ordered Blanks from other companies always use this grip. They feel great in my hand and no matter how much casting I do I don’t get hand fatigue.
Like to use these on my trout rod builds 2wt-5wt. Quality product and easy to use "as is". Product does required some reaming to fit to the blank size, but that's all part of the build. Have been happy with the product so far. Thanks Mud Hole!
I find the reverse half wells grip - RHW70-250 - the most comfortable for me to use and I like the appearance of the CRB Uplocking Fly Reel Seat with Wood Insert WFS-T-** as a reel seat, The two items go well together and work to make the bottom of the rod a more stable unit.
I purchased this cork handle based upon the description as super grade and it is not as advertised. The cork coloration is inconsistent and the glue seems look to have cracks in them. The cutout is not a standard metric size. I tried a 19 mm reel seat and it is too loose, I then tried a 20mm reel seat and it does not fit. The cutout is more like 19.75MM when I measure with a caliper. I don't think I will use these in a rod build as I am afraid the handle will crack and crumble giving me an unusable fly rod.
I ordered a bulk order of these grips and every single one is a picture perfect replica of the last, as they should be. Consistent quality
