The Saltwater EVA Grips from CRB are not like the grips on Ol’ Grandad’s saltwater rods. This EVA provides a lightweight, durable grip with just the right amount of firmness to keep you in the fight when battling those hard running saltwater species.

Good simple, durable, grips

These are good, simple, durable, inexpensive grips, which easily fit up to 130 class trolling blanks as pictured (which happens to be a Rainshadow RT8480-GB). Unlike other more expensive versions, they are an ideal size and density so you can actually get your hand around them and hold on well. Using your epoxy as a lubricant they stretch/compress and slide right on, there is no need to heat them or do anything special, and they establish a nice tight fit/bond to your blank. The only thing I do when installing them is I very slightly sand the bottom/inside edge down, in a conical manner, so that they funnel the epoxy better when sliding them down and so they naturally seat a touch over the upper lip of the ferrule.

Firm grip

I was not expecting the grip to be so unforgiving. But worked out great with some shrink wrap.
