Rod builders have long known that exposed-blank reel seats allow for a greater amount of sensitivity. Pacific Bay's new MINIMA reel seats take that concept to the extreme with their split-seat design. By eliminating the mid-body section of the reel seat, an even greater area of the rod blank is exposed. The final verdict: increased sensitivity and reduced handle weight.

Price is great and the quality/function is great. I keep looking for something better but always come back to the gold standard.
I love this reel seat. It is comfortable and has excellent blank contact. I used this reel seat on a 7' ML/F casting build for small swimbaits, tiny jigs, and small jerkbaits.
Easy to fit, Absolute Feel of the blank.
I went with this reel seat over the other split grips as it has a nice flush surface on the bottom. This allows an easy transition to homemade grips from cork/eva. FYI it does not come with the winding checks as pictured, which was kind of a bummer. But, none the less it is a great reel seat and thankful it is offered in thinner ID’s. The smaller diameter made it easier to my nephews hands and less shimming on his ultralight 5’.
