Product Details

MHX X-Composite Rod Blanks

Created for mid-range to shallow depth crankbaits, the X-Composite construction provides the soft tip flex that anglers prefer from a crankbait rod. Utilizing graphite material in the butt area of the rod blank for overall blank lighter weight as well as a soft fiberglass tip section, these blanks are perfect for short lipped cranks or vibrating, lipless rattle baits. Experience all the performance the X-Composite has to offer!

Individual Serial Numbers

Once they have passed the quality control stage, each MHX blank is assigned an individual serial number. This assures that every MHX rod you build, fish, buy or sell can be tracked throughout it’s life cycle from end to end with no concern about warranty issues.

Limited Lifetime Warranty

Each rod blank can be registered online with its individual serial number by either the custom rod builder or the end user of the rod. When registered, the blanks unique serial number identifies that rod blank to registrant. If the registrant sells or gives the rod blank or finished rod to another person, the warranty can be transferred to the new owner – an industry first.

Crankbait/chatter bait rod

Absolutely love this rod for cranking square bills and medium divers. It loads up perfect and sets the hook for you. Plus it is light compared to s-glass alone.

Wish I had 3 more

I started this rod planning on just throwing rattle traps in grass with it, but feels perfect with a flat side crankbait too. Rod feels great with 11 inch cork handle. 9 inch just didn’t feel right on it to me. Would love to have another for a second trap rod, one more for flat side cranking and one more for square bills. I Ended up going with a Fuji pts with hidden thread cork and lzr medium guide kit. First trip out since getting it done was ripping the trap though grass and turned livescope out off the edge of the point and saw 3 big fish out about 25 feet deep right off the point. Dropped the trap to them and then a brisk 20 minutes later landed the 30 plus pound flathead catfish. Rod had plenty of backbone for the fight and enough flex to not straighten out the hooks as well. The rod is exactly what I was looking for. I was really worried it was gonna feel heavy but with the cork full grip I think it really balanced out well.
