I’m used to using a standard casting grip. This one added a newer touch to my 9’ 6” rod. It fits very nicely with my carbon fiber front and rear grips. Makes sure you account for the distance between the fore grip and reel seat. 👍
The reel seat came in fine. Great finish and extremely light! Only down fall is the locking nut. Wish the locking nut was carbon fiber like the reel seat. The locking nut is just regular graphite. American Tackle could have used their carbon compressed technology or create a carbon fiber locking nut specifically for this reel seat. It is not worth getting unless you’re fine with the graphite locking nut. I would not get this product again unless it comes with a carbon fiber locking nut.
This is a great product. The carbon fiber looks great & has a very good feel in your hand & seams to be very light weight. The only negative is the very high price.
Very poor construction. Mine came peeling on the inside, with some major scratches on the top, and the part where the reel seat sits is very off center and tilted, a larger reel won't fit in now because it tilts so much. Pretty disappointed.
I wouldn't recommend the purchase, however it gets 1 star for being incredibly light and if you ignore the cosmetic issues and don't get one with a tilted reel seat then it looks really good.
Excellent quality from a hand made, not machine made product. These seats are going all my builds requiring a light weight seat. With hood mine weighed in under 1/2oz.... Lighter than the Fuji SK2.
