I think they are a great idea….

I think these are a great idea but they narrow the space on the spine finder and some of the rear grips on some my fishing rods do not fit.

Better than I thought

I use to tape the rods so they wouldn't get damaged. When these came out I thought that the soft rings would have to much flexibility and give a false reading. But they were very inexpensive so I figured why not give them a try. So I tested a blank first with tape then with the covers and both were the exact same results. So now I can save a step and a little time by leaving the bearing covers on. I like them and they work.

Sweet Rollin'!!!

This is Great! No more "gobbin" tape on the blanks. I get a more pronounced/defined feedback of the spine.
* Now, if a "butt cap" could be made, to fit into the end of the tube, so the butt end of the blank stops slipping out of the bottom end of the tube.
So far, I've ended up getting a rubber cap (for PVC pipe), trimmed it to fit flush in the tube, as well as a plastic disk trimmed to fit flush inside the cap, to prevent the butt end of the blanks from dragging against the cap, while spinning the blanks.
