I purchased a used 7’6” Star Rod to be used primarily for speckled trout. Unfortunately the butt was slightly damaged and I found the 11 inch handle of the rod not to be to my liking for casting. I opted to repair the damage butt end by replacing it using the the Split-Grip Fighting Butt with Tenon and Rubberized Cork Butt Cap for VSS16 Cork Grip and to shorten the handle of the rod to 9 inches. These two components paired nicely, were easy to work with and provided just the solution I was looking for making casting much more enjoyable.
