Built a rod to use for saltwater mostly pier and kayak. 3 piece rod. The butt section is very stiff no flex, the middle section has some flex and the tip is light enough to throw 4-8" swimbaits. 1 3/8' 10' long rear grip and 1 inch 4'" long front grip both eva rear grip idea is to allow leverage on a fish from a seated position.
Mud hole did a great job to try to make this right for me and I appreciate that but this blank has been manufactured badly and there is pitting mostly on the tip section they assure me that they are sending me a new tip that they put in the machine that could take 1.5 lb of pressure but it's a 12 to 25 that I wanted to build for large striped bass and 1 to 2 oz lures I had two separate tips break when I would try to look at the bend in the rod and I'm sure that the third one that mud hole was so kind to send me out is just going to break too. But like I said I appreciate mud hole and everything they tried to do.
I recently purchased 6 of these blanks.
I kept one to fish myself…and built 5 for customers.

Strong but sensitive blank. I will be taking this to Alaska this summer to use for coho salmon. I finished the build on Friday and took it out on our lake yesterday to see what it felt like on bass. I could feel be bass pick up the senior worm easily, set the hook and fight the fish. Granted, salmon will be stronger, but the rod feels up to the task. Nice blank at a great price!
