Silicone? Probably not.

Black O-rings are usually neoprene or nitrile rubber and are prone to ozone checking in air.

CRB rod stands new in the box arrived with cracked O-rings. The CRB replacement O-rings cracked almost immediately after they were installed.

Silicone O-rings are usually red or orange and are far more durable. They work better on rod stands than neoprene, EPDM, or nitrile for sure.

Look for 1/8" O-rings, 1 5/8" I.D. x 1 7/8" O.D. I ordered from McMaster-Carr.

Terrible rubber used on the wheels

I live in a very small house with a 1 car garage. Because of this I need to wrap my poles outside. I live in Southern California so it gets hot in the summer. I purchased the CRB Pro Rod Wrapper and set it up. In less than 3 months I had to replace all of the rubber O rings because they cracked. I went to Granger and ordered some silicone O rings #U38883.012.0162. they are 1 7/8" I.D. They have been on my rod wrapper for 9ver 3 months now and still look like knew. I had to purchase them in a bundle of 25, but they only cost $.30 each which equals $9.84 for 25. This is a much better way to go. I cannot understand why CRB did not put these on the original wheels.
