MVP Rhode Island Rod

I built one of these as a do-all rod and damn is it perfect for it! I've thrown Doc's, big poppers, and livelined squid and mackerel with this rod and it handles anything I need it to do! It is on the lighter side but that makes it easier for long days because it's not so stiff and fast, so the rod takes a lot of the heat.

Great live bait blank for larger model yellowtail

Built this as a spinning kit. Pairs perfectly with a Baitrunner or Thunnus 12000 spooled with 65lb braid and choice of mono or fluoro leader or topshot. It's a matte finish that scratches pretty easily if that matters to you (it doesn't to me). Super fast action with a soft tip and a crazy huge butt. Lots of power but lots of feel when flylining or slow trolling a live mackerel or sardine. I have live bait blanks from Rainshadow that have a glass tip with carbon fiber butt and this compares well. A+

Perfect rod

First off this is the first time I’ve used this line of rods so I wasn’t sure what to expect. I was looking to build a spinner mutton rod that I could also use to throw cobia jigs. I got to break this thing in the other day and it probably my favorite all around rod now. I caught a 20 lbs mahi while live baiting and the guy that fished with me landed a 25 lb mahi on it. He even comment on how great the rod handled. I have no doubt that it would be perfect to live bait cobia, flat line for kingfish, fish the bottom for red snapper/mutton snapper, selfish and also I’m sure it would work great as a heavy snook rod. Just all around an amazing blank!
