Flexcoat Pilot Drill Bit
Product Details
The pilot drill bit guides itself through a pre-existing hole in order to increase the diameter. These tools are made from spade bits with an aluminum pilot on the tip. When used with a hand drill the result is a perfectly centered hole.
Flex Coat Pilot Drill Bits are available in 5/16", 3/8", 7/16", 1/2", 9/16", 5/8".

I build a decent amount of rods and custom grips so reaming out grips by hand is not really an option. These will get your grips to the approximate size to then finish reaming my hand. It makes the process much faster and I recommend getting the entire set. Start small and work up to the desired size needed.
I purchased both the 3/8" and 7/16" Flexcoat Pilot Drill Bits, and unfortunately, both wobble excessively when used in my drill press, making them very difficult to control. I originally thought using them with my drill press would be safer, but that's not the case. Additionally, the 3/8" bit I received is missing the ball groove, which means I can't even use it for quick changes, despite the product photos clearly showing the groove in all sizes.
Very happy with this tool it preformed excellently
