Needs improvement

Thread carriage is nice but the rollers do not fit track hardly at all and it and the rolling thread runner I bought anytime you move either one they completely pop out of track.

Exactly what I needed

I was using another brand that came with a power wrapper. The other brand had me so frustrated I was about to give up. I saw the video on the RBS thread carriage, I ordered it and it has taken my game to a hole new level for me. BTW it fits my off brand power wrapper perfectly. As you can tell from the picture, blue and silver are my new favorite colors

2 spool thread carrige

i use this on the front of an old pac bay rod lathe. works great, fit right on, rolls easily. good tension on thread. takes a bit of trial and error to get spacers, washers and spring to allow thread to roll off but keep tension. .

This is the one you want for wrapping on the RBS

I tried 7 different brands of power wrappers and this thread carriage is the best. The tension rod lets you back up one-handed, add a thread, tie a knot, or go hands free and answer the phone, while still keeping everything tight. The adjustments and tracking are excellent.

The inside diameter of the eye bolts is a bit rough and needs to be filed and polished before using it.

Good overall design but could be improved.

Overall I like the ability to slide the thread carriage along the rails. I would make a few improvements. First, the eye-bolts should be replaced with something more refined. I find that the thread when loose can slip down in the space where the eye meets the stem of the bolt. Second it would be nice to be able to lock the position of the carriage or at least add some friction so when you are wrapping the carriage is less likely to move. This is especially true when you are at a joint where two base sections meet.
