small guide replacement

Just need a small amount and this was the answer. Work just as it should and did a great job. Would recommend for small to medium jobs

PROKOTE

I have been using PROKOTE thread finish for years. The syringes are handy as they allow you to measure out an exact amount of thread finish. I highly recommend it.

My first build

I built my first rod, followed the directions, it cured perfectly. I watched a lot of videos and did a fair share of reading. Thank you Mud Hole.

Proper mixing/prep is everything

I have used prokote for years now. There has been a learning curve when using it. The 50/50 ratio is very important, you must be exact. Mixing is also very important. If you think you've mixed it enough just mix for another minute to be safe lol. In the event you get a tacky finish, what's worked fix it for me is another light coat with maybe a drop or 2 extra hardener. In my experience this has fixed it. Temperature has also been a factor before, don't use in a unheated room, 70 is as low as I personally will go. If you do everything proper you will get a good hard finish but bc of how picky prokote is it gest a bad rap, that I generally attribute to user error.

GARBAGE PRODUCT

This stuff SUCKS. I tried multiple coats and followed every tip and trick that the internet has to offer. It is still tacky. I spent big money on a rod build and it turned out like ****. You'd be better off using Elmer's. Don't buy.
