Too fast of action. All the flex is in the tip. Might be able to trim from both ends and make something useful.

42” not so heavy hooker

We sometimes hook fish in 5 to 30 lb.
There’s too much flex in the rod to be a good hook setter, especially when you’re down to 60 to 90 ft deep. I cut 5 inches off the tip. That gives it a lot more backbone and works well in the ice tent.
In my personal opinion the length would be ok if it had a less flex in the tip.
