In-Person Beginner Rod Building Workshop

Class was very fun. Instructors were all great. My son is 10 and as soon as I got home Sunday from the class he wanted to build a rod with me. Its fun to do even if you have no intentions of building rods in the future.

This class was Amazing. I did not know what to expect. We got Pro-level training on building fishing rods and how to repair existing rods. The class gave me more information than I expected to have ,taught by absolute pro's in rod building. The class includes rod building tools needed to build all of your future rods. The rod you build is as good or better than just about any rod in your arsenal.

The class was a success! I was able to learn a lot about rod building and rod repairs. The instructors were a top notch group. Very knowledgeable group and were very helpful to everyone.

Been interested in the rod building class for a while. Finally attended the recent class in San Antonio. I'm glad I attended. I learned so much and every instructor was helpful and friendly. The instructor to student ratio was perfect. Will not hesitate to attend another class. Thank you for a enjoyable experience.

The Mudhole instructors facilitated a great learning environment. As someone that has always wanted to learn rod building (as many other participants in the class) I feel I can order a rod blank and the necessary supplies and build a quality rod on my on now. The instructors provided their contact info, so even if we get stuck or run into a problem making a rod in the future, we can call upon their expertise. And speaking of “expertise” they had it. Years and years of experience that could easily be acknowledged as they gave instructions and assisted class participants one on one, throughout the class. The only negatives I can offer would be the class room was a hotel (nice hotel I might add) conference room with small portable plastic tables. However, I’m not sure how this could be overcome with a class that travels. Another great bonus was the ability to purchase rod building equipment at a tremendous discount after the equipment was demonstrated. Class participants are given the basic equipment, but with all hobbies more advanced equipment makes easier, more timely, and higher quality finished products. I was extremely proud of the quality of rod I made during the class. Not being a fine detailed “artsy” type person, my rod still looked better than any mass produced rod you can buy. Hadn’t fished with it yet, as I write this only the day after the class, but I can’t wait. Something very satisfying about creating a custom built rod to use in doing something I love. Highly recommend this class. Well worth the money. I’m HOOKED!
