Our 2-Day beginners rod building class is taught by top professional rod builders with extensive knowledge of all the techniques and components that build today's top-performing fishing rods. Hosted in Mud Hole’s state-of-the-art Education Center, this class will teach you how to assemble your own spinning or casting rod from the handle to the tip.

You will build a 7'0" medium-light power rod, in your choice of spinning or casting. Plus, enjoy your first rod build with personalized instruction from the industry’s best!

Really cool to build your own rod and most of the tools you get to take home with you. Instructors were knowledgeable and patient. There were also enough instructors that you don’t have to wait long if you have questions or need help. I think this would be a perfect gift for anyone who enjoys fishing. I am excited to make my daughter’s first fishing pole instead of purchasing one.

Basic Rod Building Class In-person

I attended the basic rod building class in Oviedo. The class went above and beyond my expectations. There were plenty of instructors, so you didn't have to wait for answers to questions. The instructors let you struggle, and work thru problems, but were right there to offer help when you needed it. I appreciated that part, as I learn by doing, not watching. I would highly recommend this class to anyone who is considering building their own rod. I plan to attend the Advanced Rod Building course in the future.

Great Learning Experience!

Really enjoyed building a rod with instructors on standby. Learned techniques I haven’t found online. The second day was great and and recieved valuable resources and instruction so I can take my rod building to the next level. Going to sign up for the 3 day specialty class so we can keep going.
