Great rod for musky even for flathead catfish
This rod blank is very good. I gave it 4 out of 5 stars because of the color. I am funny that way. It is advertised as gloss black. However, it seems to me that the rod is black but clear coated (which would make it clear gloss). Looking closely at the rod blank, I can see the rolled lines on it. I have a different brand gloss black rod and in comparison it looks like a gloss white one or gloss pink one. You can't see anything but the paint job. No rolled lines. I wonder if the term "gloss black" is relative to how the manufacturer sees it.
