Great Reamers

These work great by hand or in a drill.

Take Your Time

These reamers work fantastic on any drill, but you MUST TAKE YOUR TIME. If you see smoke, stop and let it cool, regardless, dont cut the hole to size in the very first pass, take your time. You can make them fail in 10 seconds, and the tape will come off and the fiberglass rod can splinter if you don't TAKE YOUR TIME from the excess heat build up. There is no cooling fluid used, if you tried the same thing on a mill or lathe or even a drill, you would destroy the bit/tool in seconds. I've had the same set for 5 years and I have replaced the tape on the 2 middle tools because the grit got old, but I have never had the tape come off or the fiberglass rod fail from excess heat Work it SLOW.

Extreme Reamers Hold Up

I had my Sports Bio class of 90 students build rods and used the extreme reamers. They worked great and are very durable. My students put them to the test! I had them ream by hand but they can be attached to a drill to make fast work of cork handles and foregrips!

Tape came off the medium size on the first use

On the first use, in first few seconds, the tape on the medium size slipped right off. The small, large and extra large have held up well. Compressed air makes the cleaning a breeze (necessary while reaming). They do a great job, but don't be surprise if you have one completely fail.

Quick work

This kit makes quick work of the reaming process. I have used the small, medium and large reamers many times without fail. If you stop and clean out the grit with a soft brush as you use it, it keeps on working well. If not, the grit loads up and almost does not work. I was disappointed the one time I made a rod large enough to need the XL reamer. It broke at the through pin location on the mandrel on my first use. I was able to use it by my hand (no handle) for a very long reaming process, but I was able to finish the rod.
