good but not great

this dryer does its job. it spins. the chuck is not my favorite. it leaves like a ring on my fighting butt that is annoying but not the end of the world. Other then that I can't complain.

The Standard In Rod Drying

I own 6 of these. Have finished over 200 rods plus countless repairs. Best Value for your money!

If you make sure your rod is leveled flat before you start turning it, you will get perfect results every time.

Not great!

Bought with the wire chuck, does not spin true. Very difficult to apply epoxy evenly and causes the epoxy to not self level. Gonna try again with the rubber chuck to see if it spins true. Pretty disappointing overall!!

not great

I know its the cheapest one and comes with the kit but, I would never get this again. It does not spin true if you look at the head it moves in an elliptical motion making it very hard to apply epoxy evenly. Very frustrating. I'm not sure if just mine was bad or if they are all like that but if you are just starting out save yourself some head ache and get a better one. Everything else from mud hole has been great!

Power wrapper

These dryers are great, I have one with the clutch. I also use it for overwrapping my graphics and saves a ton of hand turning. Simply get your thread started then turn it on and use it as a power wrapper. The 18 rpm would work better for this, the 9 rpm is better for applying epoxy and is still good for power wrapping.
