Gen 2 dryer and slipper clutch

Jay...I started with the Gen2 wire dryer and just purchased the 9rpm slipper clutch dryer. The slipper clutch does go on the Gen2 dryer and the wire chuck is now on my 9rpm dryer. I now have two complete dryers and plan on finishing with the Gen2 slip clutch and drying with the 9rpm wire chuck. Also, with this setup, i wont have to listen to the Gen2 for hours. The 9rpm is much quieter.

Clutch is not centered...

The wire clutch doesn't center the rod or blank, so it turns unevenly. Basically useless for getting an even finish. I want to upgrade to the slip chuck, but I do not believe it will fit as the shaft is 7mm... it is also sold out.
Currently looking for a new set-up as this one is useless to me.

Not balanced

Two wire holding system is not balanced and pain to play with to keep rod level when finishing. I like the speed but need a rubber style boot, much easier and more consistent level.

Great Product

Great product! No longer do I need to glass my threads on the power wrapper. This product has the perfect amount of rpms to help cut a nice clean line, then simply turn the speed down to dry. Well worth the money and a great investment to anyone building for personal use or for business.

beyond expectations

So I've been building going on 2 years now. It has been a lot of trial and error. All in all, business is booming and a lot of the customers are repeat buyers. I started with the basic mudhole starter set for $400. included a simple wrapper, stands, thread, and the basic drier. This all began as rod repair and expanded to building. Repairs started coming in and I needed to upgrade to a quad drier. I tried the PacBay drier which was complete JUNK. I was reimbursed by Mudhole who are incredible for their customer service. They upgraded me to a CRB. Now I have 12 driers. I have been waiting for this variable machine. One word sums it up, WOW!!!!! I can speed it up for huge butt wrap epoxy jobs, slow it down for touch ups and long term drying without moving the rod to another location. Here's the best part, IT DOESN'T GET HOT!!! All other driers heat up over a couple hours and this one doesn't. Super impressed. Now if we could integrate that unit into a power wrapper combo to compete with the ALPS wrapper/drier then there would be no reason to buy anything else. Thanks Rob, Paul, Chris, Tyler, etc. etc. for putting up with my phone calls and questions. Great unit, great service.
