Proper mixing/prep is everything

I have used prokote for years now. There has been a learning curve when using it. The 50/50 ratio is very important, you must be exact. Mixing is also very important. If you think you've mixed it enough just mix for another minute to be safe lol. In the event you get a tacky finish, what's worked fix it for me is another light coat with maybe a drop or 2 extra hardener. In my experience this has fixed it. Temperature has also been a factor before, don't use in a unheated room, 70 is as low as I personally will go. If you do everything proper you will get a good hard finish but bc of how picky prokote is it gest a bad rap, that I generally attribute to user error.

This stuff SUCKS. I tried multiple coats and followed every tip and trick that the internet has to offer. It is still tacky. I spent big money on a rod build and it turned out like ****. You'd be better off using Elmer's. Don't buy.

Doesn't cure

Got this in a rod building kit from Mud Hole. 48 hours after application and still not cured. Very tacky to the touch. Don't know if I should keep waiting or just remove all my wraps and restart using something else.

Mud Hole has been fantastic to help me solve the problem of epoxy not curing.... they sent me a new product call "Gen 4" which is another brand of epoxy and I followed the directions and applied another light coat to the rod that I was having trouble with..... I let it cure 24 hours at an ambient temperature of 70 degrees +/- and it did great....Thanks Rick...I appreciate your help....problem solved

Working hard to sol=e the problem

Mud Hole has been in constant contact with me to help resolve the curing problem... they encourage feedback so they can evaluate their products and make changes if needed.
This problem could possibly be my not being familiar with the product, but I tried to use it according to the any rate they are going above and beyond to find a solution... and I truly appreciate the effort on their part
