Fuji ECSM Exposed Blank Casting Reel Seat

Product Details

The ECSM reel seat is more than just another exposed blank seat, Importantly, each reel seat has a blank exposed area so that your finger comes in direct contact with the blank for maximum sensitivity, but the design also allows for great stability and comfort. More than 20% lighter than FUJI's other lightweight casting reel seats, it has a 7.9 degree offset, which reduces fatigue and provides for greater comfort when palming a reel. As with other FUJI reel seats, it sports a lock tight nut system and exclusive S4™ stainless steel cushioned hoods.

Available in Frosted Silver, Black and Gunsmoke.

Fuji ecsm reel seats

I have used these before and really like the fit and the design of the blank contact point my point finger is right there and is not twisted to make contact to the rod blank that is exposed

Very sensitive reel seat for the price

I've built 7 rods with these ECSM seats, and I'm getting ready to order another one. They're comfortable, light, and durable. The exposed blank feature and direct contact between the seat and the blank also make them very sensitive. I buy 0.5-mm smaller than I need and ream to fit tightly with 150-grit sand paper wrapped around a piece of rod blank. I also form a masking tape bushing on top of thin paper that I can press into the top of the reel seat so that it has two areas of contact for stability.

Just OK

The threads on the reel seat could be a bit longer. I also ordered a locking nut to help secure the reel within the seat. The threads were too short to allow this. I ended up moving the foregrip ahead to allow room for the lock nut. This left a gap between the reel seat and the foregrip. It works but is not ideal. It looks a little strange.

Reel seat

This reel seat worked perfectly for the rod I'm building. Mudhole has an awesome selection of rod building supplies.
