CFX Composite Carbon Fiber Grips - Fighting Butt Grip

Product Details

Ergonomic fighting butts designed for split-grip handles on both spinning and casting rods. This grip will readily accept an ECC-22 or SPG cap for a clean and smooth finished butt.

CFX Carbon Fiber Composite Grips

CFX grips begin with a proprietary carbon infused core material. It is the weight of traditional 4 lb urethane foam but has the density and strength of 7 lb. It is stronger, lighter, and more dense than any grip material available. What this means to you is the ultimate in energy transmission, far superior to cork, EVA, hypalon or other carbon fiber grips.

CFX grips have a buffed matte finish that is comfortable, easy to grip, and impervious to UV breakdown. The end result is a beautiful grip that is lighter and more sensitive than any rubber based handle, translating to more bites felt, more hook sets and more fish in front of the camera.

They break extremely easily you have to be very careful putting them on until the glue is totally dry. But I love the feel and light weight of the handles.

Small and light weight

I used this carbon butt on my last build and it turned out very good. Be careful when you bore out the hole because the material removes easily. Also if you test fit a tight fitting EVA butt cap on the tenon, be careful so you don’t break the tenon off, it’s very fragile until you get it glued up on a blank.

Second one I broke off. They are very fragile. Maybe the third time will be a charm.

Looks good

Looks good, light and largely easy to work with. This might be more a function of the butt cap but I had to tape up the butt to get the butt cap to sit flush. Not a hard fix and just part of building I suppose.
