Very well made
I used an old heavy action surf rod and removed the old grips and the old graphite reel seat and used the new reel seat and two 14 inch grips to convert this rod into a grinder. I’m old and I started having problems using a standard surf rod because of the long grip below the reel. The project turned out great and I plan to make another one using the 13 foot black hole blank to cast further out there. I also installed a bionic finger to help with casting. My finger said thank you for that
Looks great and sturdy
First time using the AT reel seat worked perfect for my application. Quality was spot on
All of the parts are great. Since this is the first heavy rod that I have built it is taking me longer to get all the right pieces that I want for this rod. I would not hesitate to order another one of these blanks and parts to build another rod.
