I’m a first time Fuji thread user, was introduced to pro wrap early on in the rod craft and kinda settled for it.
I can’t outright say that prowrap is inferior thread… seen some great work w it! However , using fuji thread i find it lays down really smooth, burnishes well and takes finish readily. Have also applied CP and it seems to absorb it well w little to none splotching .
Thats my “2cents”
Only buy tip tops
With Tang
And buy a tip top
One tube size bigger
Rod tip is size 7
Than buy 7.5 for
Best fit
Too tight of a fit
Will have the tip top
Not stay in place
I’ve used these guides and hook keepers on several rods.
They look great and perform just as well.
I had to start color locking Pro Wrap Metallic, have a gold wrapped rod fade from sustained use in the sun!
Great Product, action of the rod was just what I wanted. I have never been disappointed with any Mudhole purchases and service is second to none.
I found this rod to be very difficult to wrap in that tip. Paint is very poor when I got it. It was missing some and didn’t look very professional. The action seems to be very good. Overall I can’t wait to fish it to see how it performs, but I do not plan to buy another one.
Fish eyes and is so easily contaminated it's crazy. The Gen 4 never had an issue with but this stuff its CONSTANT problems. Rods are taking 2-3x as long to fix than just get finish on and call it. STAY AWAY!

If you are looking to make a jigging rod, this is one to consider. Plus, they are offered at a very competitive price!
The great thing about color fast thread is that you don’t have to use color preserver or have to worry about the threads changing colors or darkening on you after applying thread finish.
