Very pleased with the kit. Made this rod for friend. Our group fishes the surf with fairly light tackle. This rod feels so comfortable with a light spinning reel I am considering building one for myself. Only mine will not be pink, as her’s.
Broke my old rod of this weight, not a Mud Hole blank. I like this one better than the Shimano it replaced even though I haven’t used it much. Nice for wacky rigging.
made a good looking rod. Putting micro guides on the thin section of the blank was difficult. Have not tried it out. Time will tell for fishability.
Built a Red, White, and Blue, rod for our church fundraiser. The build was simple and turned out looking good. The best thing was the Mud Hole service department for getting me a replacement blank after the first one was broken in shipping. Thanks for the quick response.
Was looking for a lighter build. This built a good feeling rod. I swapped the guides for Fujis though.
