Rest

This thing works great for me. I have modified it . I cut the main frame down some and added rollers so that it can slide down the track like a thread carriage. It is really steady this way and is easy to move. I only use it for epoxy work. For cork and turning I use a small lathe in my shop. Overall it will help with controlling lines and edges when applying thread finish.

Great item

This rest makes it easier for me to apply a very fine edge to wraps. Without it I shake too much to apply a nice epoxy line at the thread edge.

Overpriced hand rest

This was not well thought out. It will work as a hand rest only, but so will many things laying around the house. As a tool rest it’s worthless. Adjusted all the way in and your still 3” away from the centerline of the track. So it’s not practical for turning tools being that far away. I was going to return it, but decided to make a more adjustable base to mount under the one you get.. so more money and wasted time to fix something that was poorly designed. I will include a picture showing the distance adjusted all the way in to a blank. I do not reccomend this product.
