Product Details
The RBS 4-Spool Thread Carriage mounts directly to the RBS aluminum base track for fast access to four separate threads simultaneously.
Featuring an all-new bearing and spring system that eliminates friction for infinite control over your flowing threads, this 4-Spool Carriage achieves pure, unimpeded thread tension resulting in tight, smooth thread wraps with ease.
In addition to securing four small to medium sized thread spools, there are also four large tension knobs to allow user-friendly adjustments, whether changing tension or swapping thread options. The base includes multiple mounted thread guide layouts to optimize thread position during tricky wraps, as well as two convenient neodymium magnets installed to secure razor blades, thread picks, and more.
Plus, this 4-Spool Thread Carriage is designed for use with the RBS Wrapping System as well as other comparable models from Pacific Bay and American Tackle (APW, PBWD, RW-1L, RW-3L).
- Keep up to 4 spools at the ready - perfect for color-change weaves
- Compatible with small & medium sized spools from ProWrap, Pac Bay, Fuji and more
- Extra-smooth ball-bearing system eliminates friction
- Multiple thread guide paths allow you to optimize thread position during tricky wraps
- Seamless integration with RBS wrapping system
- Also compatible with Pacific Bay & American Tackle power wrappers

The price is a bit steep for this model. Much of it is molded plastic which feels kinda cheap. Also it's a shame you can't use a tension rod with it. All that said, it works as advertised.
The other CRB systems, the hand wrapper and the 2-spool carriage, come with a tension rod. The 4-spool carriage does not. So you learn a new way to wrap, or modify this carriage. On the front rail, it's bulky and in the way. On the back rail, it can be used to feed the 2 spool carriage in front as shown in the pic. You can add a tension rod by drilling the column or the base but it would be a better carriage if it already had a hole or two and a tension rod included. You can also ask MH to build you a custom 3D printed clip on tension rod and a front rail eyebolt slider, similar to the hand wrapper. Neither of those 3D printed pieces is in the catalog.
The eye bolts have too many tool marks and wreck thread. They have to be polished before using them. That should be in the instructions. Most of the users I met, after the fact, wrecked a couple of rods before figuring it out.
I was disappointed due to no tensioning rod. I knew that was the case when ordered . After using it a bit I really missed the rod. However, the main disappointment is that the rollers on the thread carriage do not fit the slot on the track! Very very loose to falling off making wrapping a challenge to say the least. It is unusable and poorly designed. Definitely wouldn’t buy one again.

I wanted to write this review because the two other reviews would lead you to believe there was something wrong or missing from the design and the unit was useless. There is no tensioner rod. That is true, however what do you need it for? You set the spool tension with the knobs on each spool. Each can be set at its own tension for none at all to too tight to turn. That's literally what the design was intended for. I'm using this with an Alps power wrapper and it fits the track no problem. Unit works like it should. Its plastic so it probably won't last forever, but it will last years with heavy use I'm sure.
