Great blank!

This is the standard for bass blanks. Gets it done every time.

843MB MHX vs Loomis

This was the first rod I ever built. I decided to try to reproduce the G. Loomis 843MBR with a split grip so I chose this as it was supposed to be similar.
The good:
The blank feels decent.
It's definitely a mag taper similar to the Loomis, but feels like a more moderate-fast action.
The bad:
With the same spacing it is very tip heavy. The reel seat needs to be moved further up.
It's numb. There's very little feel in the blank. It works well for casting 3/8-5/8oz baits, but it's not a sensitive blank. It would be good for moving baits.
Overall a decent blank, but not fantastic. The Cashion iMB843 is a better overall feeling blank.

This rod has an excellent finish on it.... The color of the rod makes it very compatible for other components.

Great Chatter Bait Blank

I primarily use this blank for Chatter baits. It is also great for swim jigs in light cover. It's a very light, sensitive, and durable blank.

A little product testing.

Newly built 7’ MB843 with a Lew’s KVD bait cast reel. First day out with it, I was really impressed with the level of sensitivity and yet it has the ability to handle larger fish. For me it’s a perfect bass rod, and I already have plans on building more of them in the future.
