Economical, but could be improved

I just built the 9' 3wt CRB color series fly rod. Overall, it's a pretty decent blank, and hard to beat for the price. The rod had a small wobble in the straightness near the tip, but I don't think that's going to be an issue. It spined out ok, for a 4 piece rod, with some effort. I'm concerned about the durability of the paint, having also just built a short casting rod on a CRB color series 5'6" blank, where I found the paint extremely easy to scratch., but I didn't really see that issue with this fly rod, so time will tell how it holds up. Looking forward to trying it on the water this summer.

I selected the CRB 9'0', 3 weight fly rod in gray color as my Project Healing Waters rod build. I am very pleased with the blank quality, color, straightness, and sensitivity of the completed rod. The finished rod is very responsive when paired with a WF3F fly line. I would highly recommend this blank.

First full build start to finish.

I used this black set to make a nymphing and bigger river set up. The rod is a tad bit faster then i like but is accurate. I used the line guides and grip from the site as well. All worked out great. After many mistakes and redo i wound up repainting the blank white
