It works and sized right

It’s a mandrel - a steel rod not much to review but it works fine and the sizes fit- be sure to get the wax though if you have a mold release wax? Same same but you need to epoxy the EVA to the mandrel

Good Product - Be careful when removing grips

I bought a few of these to start building my own grips. They work great but keep a few things in mind.

1. I ordered a few extra collars to put a thicker OD on the end and help the jaws on the power wrapper grip it.

2. If you use a hammer to loosen the grip from the mandrel when finished, it may "mushroom" the end making it difficult to remove a collar.

Keeping those things in mind. This is the perfect tool to build your custom rod grips.

Thank you MudHole!

Hard to find a mandrel long enough to do my grips but sure enough, Mud Hole has them. And for a good price too. No problems using the 1/4 on my lathe. It is indeed a little longer than needed, which puts a little flex in the long span, however no issues using it. I’ve done many 7” and a couple 10/11” grips on it.

Works just fine

Only mandrels I’ll use, work great, collars stay in place.
